NLP through stories _ story 59

A man was hurt in one
leg in a fight with his wife

So he was admitted to a
hospital with a bandage on one leg

The man saw another in
patient with bandage on both the legs.

He asked that man, “Do
you have 2 wives?”

Learning
People make their model of the world based on their experience  and inference.
It is not the event but the perception of the event becomes the reality.
We don’t deal with real reality but perceived reality .

Also Language is an
expression of belief

NLP through stories – story 58

A fish peddler woman was caught in rain and so took shelter at the
veranda of a house.

The rain did not seem to subside. So the fisher woman thought of
taking a nap for some time and closed her eyes. But she could not sleep
peacefully because of the smell from the house. The smell was very disturbing.
It was the house of a flower vendor and the fragrance of flowers was very
irritating for the woman;
finally she took her fish basket nearby and in the
smell of fish she could get her sleep and relaxed well.

Learning

It is conditioned response from the fish vendor.
While people in general may prefer the
fragrance of flowers to fish smell
the vendor feels at home with the smell of
fish.
NLP calls this as ANCHORING,(conditioning)
Anchor is any stimulus that elicits a particular response.
Anchors form unconsciously.
NLP teaches how to anchor consciously for desired response and
also collapsing unwanted response.

NLP through stories – story 57

Rupee note in all its pride said to the coin,
“I keep rolling in
the hands of celebrities;
high valued commodities are bought with my power”

The coin said,
“I am saved in the piggy bank of dear children;
I
am preserved in temples ;
I am very much satisfied with what I am”

Learning:
Everyone has intrinsic merit and worth.
Self worth is not determined by net worth.
Each is useful in some specific context.

NLP says we are all unique in our ways
No need to compare; no need to compete.
We must respect the individual model of the world.
Appropriateness of anything must be evaluated in the context of the happening and not based on a generalized comparison

Appreciate your uniqueness;
Self appreciation s the best appreciation.

NLP through stories – story 56

A philosopher who had only one pair of shoes asked the cobbler to
repair them while he would wait.
The cobbler said,’ it is closing time and please come tomorrow to
take deliver “
The philosopher said, “I have only this pair of shoes; I can’t
walk bare foot.”
“I can lend you another pair of shoes till then” said the cobbler
“What? Wearing someone’s shoes? What do you take me for?” asked
the philosopher in an intemperate tone.
The cobbler replied sarcastically, “you don’t hesitate to carry
other people’s ideas in your head; why object to wearing someone’s shoe on your
feet?’’
Moral :
It is very important to have hands on experience to gain
expertise, especially when facing real life which does not follow a set script
you need to be alive to the situation and respond appropriately. This can
happen if you proceed out of real life experience.
NLP asks you to go by your inner guidance system as evidenced by
your senses.
Authenticity comes by experience.

NLP through stories – story 55

A man is walking down
the beach and comes across a sealed bottle.
He picks it up and
pulls out the cork. Out pops a genie and says that it can grant 3 wishes.
The man asks for 1
billion dollar in Swiss bank & gets it
“I want a red Ferrari” –
in no time he gets it.
He continues, “I want to be irresistible to women”
POOF!! He turns into a
box of chocolates
Moral :
When we communicate we
must be specific about what we want or ask.
If not we leave room for people to
derive their meaning.
The intended meaning becomes a variant to derived
meaning.
In fact meaning of
communication is based upon the recipient
.

Hence
communicator has to take responsibility for the outcome of communication by
seeking feedback from the respondent.

NLP through stories – story 54

A monk decides to meditate alone, away from his monastery.
He
takes his boat out to the middle of the lake, moors it there, closes his eyes
and begins his meditation. After a few hours of undisturbed silence, he
suddenly feels the bump of another boat colliding with his own. With his eyes
still closed, he senses his anger rising, and by the time he opens his eyes, he
is ready to scream at the boatman who dared to disturb his meditation. But when he opens his eyes, he sees it’s an empty
boat that had probably got untethered and floated to the middle of the lake. At
that moment, the monk achieves self-realization, and understands that the anger
is within him; it merely needs the bump of an external object to provoke it out
of him. From then on, whenever he comes across someone who irritates him or
provokes him to anger, he reminds himself, “The other person is merely an empty
boat. The anger is within me.”
Moral
Nothing inherently
has meaning except the meaning we give to it;
The response is based on the conditioning; stimulus is only
an opportunity to study our pattern of behavior.
On many occasions when we lose our cool we blame our
circumstance;
so long as we blame we are at the mercy of circumstance.
Between stimulus and response if we have choices then we
can make intelligent response.

Self responsibility is the prudent way to gain self mastery
NLP can help those who are willing to take responsibility for change

NLP through stories – story 53

SENSITIVITY
How shall I experience
my oneness with creation?”
“By listening,” said the
Master.
“And how am I to
listen?”
“Become an ear that
gives heed to every single thing the universe is saying.
The moment you hear
something you yourself are saying, stop.”
Moral
Being alive to
everything around is important in order to understand better.
Suspending one’s agenda and evaluation if one
can pay attention to what is going on around one can get enlightenment, may be emancipation
from enslaving thought patterns.
NLP calls this UPTIME
UPTIME refers to a more worldly
state of awareness that emphasizes external awareness
When you’re in uptime, you perceive the world
around you in much greater accuracy and you absorb patterns with much greater
facility.

?Are we getting the result we want by being positive?

?Are we getting the result we want
by being positive?
Positive thinking is expected to bring in positive result, in other
words the expected result.
Does it give expected result all the time if not most of the time for
all who carefully nurture positive thoughts despite even failing many times?
What could be the reason? Is it our fault in not having generated
enough positive thinking?
Can we say by the ‘negative’ result that
our strategy was not right?
Can we say we are not fortunate enough to get what we want?
Can we say we are a cursed lot to suffer from what we don’t want?
Yes we have the right to conclude in whatever way we want.
All these are only interpretations we make based on the meaning we give
to the outcome.
Yet what is the fact? What could be the reason that we don’t get what
we want? We don’t get as we want? We don’t get at the time we want?
Let me give an ‘INTELLIGENT’ answer.
Yes the answer is based on INTELLIGENCE.
We know we have body intelligence which governs the functioning of the
body and the body responds & reacts to stimuli from outside; we have
automated functions governed by this intelligence.
Equally we know the world is moving in order; moving in harmony;
There is a larger wisdom that governs the movement of this cosmos and
everything happens to maintain the equilibrium in this massive world.
I repeat everything happens to maintain the
equilibrium in this massive world
.
Hence you life effort, the result of effort – everything is governed based on
the law of equilibrium.
Now the tricky question is
– “Some are leading a rich life, how? Some with not so much of ability
or expertise seems to be leading a very rewarding life, how? How is it that a
person with real talent languishing in difficulties and does not seem to be in
the lime light at all?
These are definitely intriguing questions.
The answer is it is the way the world order has designed.
How?
Let me give an example
How many litres of milk are required to make one kg of butter?  20 litres
How many oranges are required to make one litre of orange juice?  15 oranges
How many flowers must honey bees tap to make one pound of
honey? 2 million flowers
How many sperm cells travel to reach embryo though only
one is needed to fertilize an egg?
About 500 millions

For one kg butter 20 litres of milk; does it mean major portion of milk is
waste?
For just one litre of juice 15 oranges; does that mean
the pulp is now a waste?
If just one sperm cell is sufficient then why 500 million
in one ejaculation?
Not so,
See the massive effort nature makes to produce a
masterpiece!!
It is all a part of nature’s design.
Looking at the world event from that perspective where
you and I also form part of it, if people are succeeding marginally or
phenomenally which are all relative in comparison, everything happens according to an order.
So if there are celebrities, outstanding achievers,
exceptional performers, and crorepathis then they are so because crores of
others equally capable, though not drawing money or fame like them, are making
them so according to universal order.
Ambanis’ Adanis’ Bill Gates’ are possible because of so
many nameless & faceless achievers in their own way but not equally
recognized or rewarded like them.
Celebrate life because of you there are outstanding
achievers & celebrities as per the design of world order
.
The world is a beautiful place to live because you are
living!
Keep aspiring! Keep doing! Get going!

Because of you the earth revolves, sun & moon
shine, stars twinkle.
You are the reason because you are complete
whole & perfect

You are a miniature moving
cosmos

NLP is no medical treatment

NLP is not a panacea for illness

Sometime before I received a number of phone calls from desperate seekers of remedy for their prolonged disease and enquired for NLP treatment from me.

I was shocked.

People suffering from cancer, stroke, and high blood sugar, severe back pain, psoriasis, asthma, spondylitis, brain deficiency called up & wanted cure from their suffering with the help of NLP.

I was really taken aback .

I asked them who said NLP could cure all these diseases;

Invariable answer was a TV program highlighted NLP had ways to cure any physiological problem.

“Did the program say the way they would be cured? I asked them; They said NO

What a misleading presentation!

I did not watch the program; I am not able to comment on the content of the program. Yet the impression I get is the promoters of NLP through the TV program have projected an image that NLP can cure physiological problems too.

Far from truth.

Neurolinguistic programming has been used to change the limiting beliefs of patients about their prospects of recovery from a wide variety of medical conditions including Parkinson’s disease, AIDS, migraines, arthritis, and cancer. NLP has also been used to treat allergies.

NLP is particularly popular in the self-improvement and career-development fields, and some trainers and practitioners have little experience in its use for healing. Because NLP is intended to enhance the healing process, it should not be used independently of other healing methods. In all cases of serious illness, a physician should be consulted.

NLP at best can help patient address psychological issues relating to or resulting in physiological problems.

In case of acute physiological problems taking advice from registered medical practitioners is the right approach

NLP is not alternate medicine or alternative to medicine.
