NLP through stories -story 27

A man wanted to sell his 2 acre land which he thought as good for nothing  and approached an agent to help to dispose the land.
Next day this man saw an ad in the paper, ” 2 acres of land located near highway, very good for cultivation with enough water resources; even it is suitable for factory building or residential purpose; best price”

After reading the advertisement this man went to the agent and said, ” I have changed my mind; after reading your ad, I now realise the worth of my land; I dont want to sell”

Is it not interesting??
Often times you & I have the real potential & value.
yet not taking apt reference you tend to conclude you are powerless or worthless.
You need someone to remind you of your glory.
NLP exactly does this job of reminding you of your worth.
You already have all the resources you need.
NLP reminds you; reinforces in you.
VRnlp makes it happen.

NLP through stories – story 26

“Which
is important present or future?” a question was asked to an industrialist.
He
quickly replied “Both”
He
was asked to explain.
He
said, “Present gives us the opportunity to know where we stand where we are how
we are; and future gives us the opportunity to move to a better position than
the present’’
Very
insightful isn’t it??
NLP
clearly says to be aware of what goes on now in you & around you;
acknowledging the present is important, accepting the present is important.  -PRESENT STATE
And
once having known where we are, we have to know where we want to be..   DESIRED
STATE
Present
State >—————–
>————————>
desired sate
NLP
gives you tools to move from present state to desired state.
VRnlp
helps to move & achieve your desired state.

NLP through stories – Story 25

He was haunted by a ghost dream every day.
He could not sleep peacefully every day.
The moment he closed his eyes images of ghost in various shapes & size
seized his mind and he was becoming restless.

Even during waking hours he was worried over ghost dream & loss of peace.
He was now truly possessed.

One day a monster ghost approached him.
He was totally terror-stricken, terrified petrified.

In a shaky voice he asked the ghost, ” what are you going to do?”

The ghost said, ” How do I know?? You created me & direct me;
only you know what I have to do”

Is it not strange that what we create seem like dictating us?
Every thing in this world is a creation of mind and we get conditioned by our creation and they seem to dominate.
We get so much associated with them that we conclude we are possessed by them.
If we know the knack of disassociation we can understand ‘truth’ and respond adeqautely.

Also it is clear we respond to our perception of reality & not  real reality.

NLP talks of association & dissociation..
In order to understand & alter you must know dissociation &
in order to perform you must associate.

VRnlp teaches you how to associate & dissociate appropriately.

NLP through stories -story 24

Two boys, brothers, were very naughty & pranks.
They had the habit of flicking away recklessly.
Any amount of advice punishment had no effect on them.
They continued to be as they were.
The parents became impatient and hopeless.
They heard of a church priest who had the knack of dealing with difficult people and bringing them around.

The parents took the boys to the priest.
The priest started his intervention.
“Boys, Do you know where God is?”

Upon hearing this, one boy alarmed the other,
“Come on, Run now & escape
God is missing & the priest suspect us”

This is ‘CONDITIONING’
Even though the priest wanted to advice them of a good manner,
the very question triggered to the boys in their mind of the conditioning so far that they were ‘lifters’ and inadvertently they thought they were mistaken.

We also in life do like this on accasions based on our conditioning.
In the heat of the moment we most of the time  respond based on conditioning than intellectual calculation.
Hence NLP suggests to you to ‘PROGRAM’ your mind to modify behavior appropriately.

NLP through stories – story 23

The sculptor was fully focused in crafting a image from a stone.
An onlooker was surprised to find 2 more images,similar to the one the sculptor was making, already there;
He could not contain his curiosity & asked the sculptor where these 3 stone images were going to be placed.
The sculptor replied only one was going to be installed;
The onlooker asked,” why 3 images then?”
The sculptor said,” the other two has not come as he expected; especially the nose, perfection is mising”
Onlooker asked,” where is going to be installed?”
Th sculptor” 20 feet above ..there”
onlooker,” so high.. who will notice the nose ??”
The sculptor,” I will notice; I know”

This is what is called CONGRUENCE..
With regard to NLP learnng & practice you need to be congruent;
being true to your self is essential for appropriate outcome.
Nothing to compare, none to compete, align with your self and go by inner calling & hint.
Being true is important for authentic success.

NLP through stories -story 22

A man was dying from a poisoned arrow.
His relatives rushed  a doctor to his side.

But he refused to have his arrow removed unless
he had the answers to a few questions.

1. was the man who shot him white or black?
2. was he a native or a foreigner?
3. was he tall or short?
4. what language he spoke?
5. By what vehicle he escaped?

He was adamant that the could not be removed; and so he died.

Very unfortunate isn’t it?

Like this man inappropriately intelligent or inquisitive,
some are vainly analytical about issues & prove to be impractical idiots;
Ability to question the existing system,
ability to analyze the pros & cons of an issue,
ability to gain greater understanding of an issue by seeing many sides is welcome.
At the same time it must lead you to an appropriate benefit befitting the context.

That is why NLP does not believe in ‘fixing the client’
NLP does not unnecessarily analyze the problem of the subject; does not work with the content;
NLP takes the subject through a process to the desired outcome.

NLP through stories – Story 21

The second’s hand in a clock complained to the clock maker,” what a pain & dull routine for me; I need to keep on moving every second till the end, can you do something?

The clock maker said,” It’s easy; just focus on the next tic, rest is automatically done”

Often times in workshops people ask me,’the issue is doing the exercise & practice for one month;
I tell them this story and request them to focus doing that day; tomorrow will take care of itself.
It is more of belief system.
Their experience in the past have confirmed that they are not capable of doing something consistently; and so they doubt their focus to doing every day without fail and a mental estimate doing an assignment for 30 days seems a burden.
Doing one day is an achievement & focusing on that accomplishment and taking reference as an achiever you shift your focus from lack of consistency to capable of doing.
This will make you do continuously and consistently.
How to eat an elephant?
”a bite at a time”
In NLP we call it as ‘CHUNKING’

NLP through stories – Story 20

A man approached a Zen master & requested him to be accepted as Guru.
Master refused. The man insisted on the ground that he was already trained by various masters. He said he had come for furthering his knowledge.

Zen master replied he was not the right guru for him. Still the man insisted.

The Guru then said,” Ok now go to the next room; take the bucket there; and draw water from the well.”

The man felt insulted initially, “I have come for knowledge; he gives this menial job for me ?” with  this thinking he took the bucket; to his shock he found the bucket had no base.

He rushed to the master,” Master, the bucket has no base; how can I draw water?” he questioned with impatience & irritation.

Master said in a measured tone,” That’s why I said I cant be your guru. If you want to learn from me, you need to have trust & humility. If you keep on evaluating what I tell you, learning cannot take place.”

Moral of the story is very simple & evident. One needs to have absolute trust in the process to attain an outcome; meddling with doubt & disbelief in the middle is counter productive.
When it comes to learning & benefiting from NLP one must have absolute trust in the process;
I would say surrender to the process only then you can gain from NLP.

NLP means Never Lose Patience.

NLP through stories – Story 19

A woodcarver called Ching had finished work on a bell frame. Everyone who saw it marvelled at the work for it looked like a master piece.
The wood carver replied,” I am only simple workman. I am no genius.
But what I do is when I want to make a bell frame I first meditate to calm my mind. When I meditate for 3 days I dont think of rewards or punishment.
when I meditate for 7 days I forget myself; only my skill remains.

In that state I will walk into the forest, stop at the tree that will give me the best frame; I see the bell frame in all its perfection.
Then my hands go to the task; having set myself aside, nature meets nature that is performed through me.
This no doubt is the reason why everyone says that the finished product is the work of spirits”

This is what we say as  being in a state of flow where thinking without thinking takes place.
A parallel to this story happened in the life of Swami Vivekananda; when he was in American wandering in the streets prior to Parliament of Religion meet in Chicago, he happened to see a boy struggling to shoot with his gun the target; Swami asked if he could try his hand; the boy agreed; Swami aimed & exactly hit the bull’s eye. The boy was amazed and asked if Swami was an expert shooter. Swami said it was the first he touched a gun; and Swami said, ”My boy, I did not simply aim at the target; I became the target and so as a matter of fact shooting became a flawless act.”

This is something may be hard to believe for those who are analytically inclined and logically questioning every act.
It is more of being to becoming.
This calls for a state of mind which is still and calm.
This is possible if one can ‘hasten slowly’
It is posssible with whole mind approach; a correct combination of right & left brain.
NLP has a number of tools to trigger your whole brain and have a resourceful state of mind for best result.
FLOW is sure.

NLP through stories – Story 18

Akbar consulted an astrologer and enquired on the well being of his life and near & dear.
The astrolger after carefully examining the planetary position said with reluctance, ” Maharaj ! Your close relatives will leave this world before your eyes”
Akbar was upset & angry. He expressed his displeasure over the prediction.
He refused to believe the astrologer.

The astrologer also pleaded on the accuracy of his prediction and clarified that he was only stating what the planets indicated.
Akbar ordered the astrologer to move away from his sight.
Feeling sad the astrologer reported to Birbal;
He promised the astrologer he would set right.
Birbal went straight to meet Akbar and enquired why Akbar was sad.
Akbar narrated the prediction.
Birbal said immediately,” No No astrologer has made some mistake in his calculation; let me analyze now; please give me your horoscope”
Akbar handed over; Birbal spent sometime with the horoscope and said with an exclamation & excitement on the face, ” What a blessed life you have Maharaj!  God has given you the privilege of taking care of your near & dear all through out their life”

Akbar was very pleased and gave gifts to Birbal.

The moral of the story here is very evident.
The fact has not changed; only the presentation has been modified to suit the belief system of Akbar.
It is not enough how appropriate you are; how you are appropriate is more important.
one of the principles of NLP is A person with flexibility gains control over the situation
If you dont get the desired resuly in one way, then change the way you present it to get the desired outcome, like Akbar was given the fact in an acceptable way.
